The SPACEBUILDER
The urban boulderwall.

To boulder is the version of freeclimbing without climbing rope in drop altitude.

The SPACEBUILDER is a sort of three-dimensional wall sculpture from single modular membranes. The form of the membranes forms the base of the hyperbolic paraboloid. The idea was to design a two sided usable boulderwallsystem for urban climbers. The system exists of eight two-sided elements with 16 different surfaces and structures. The structures are inspired by the bloodsystem of human beings and the architecture planning sketches of big towns. The surface doesn´t remind on rock structures and is consciously different. Climbing in cities and urban sceneries is totally different. The membranes are fastened together with steel tape.
